I am beginning to show more and more interest in t-shirt designing lately and even have a couple of designs i want to make into t-shirts. One of my original designs includes the band name “Panic at the Disco”. Since this design is only going to be used for non-commercial purposes and absolutely not using it for any profit whatsoever, I was wondering if I was free of any copyright/legal issues. Would it be a copyright infringement if i made the t-shirt for just for me? Thanks

In short: you can only install 4 times, even if all four installs are done on the SAME COMPUTER! After that you have to pay. If you do take the time to read my blog you’ll find a description about someone who was asked to pay because she did format 4 times when switching from xp to vista, then back to xp, and then had hardware problems. So what should we call this type of licensing? So far I have “stupidware” and “chumpware.” The mainstream media will need a term to use when they are finally able to explain what it is themselves so let’s get one to them before other companies start doing this BS!

My project is to take our company’s top 200 independent software vendor applications- and for each application- find out what the pricing model is for EACH processor technology (5 different types of chips) and virtualization technology (e.g. containers/logical domains). I have no tech background so I’m quite intimidated and the info is pretty detailed so u cant google it and the co. doesnt have info in their internal system (im the 1st one doing this for them). Any suggestions where I can get some fundamental knowledge in this arena (tech + the specific project) to gain confidence, do well, and increase my chances of getting hired as a regular employee? Thx a lot.

Blizzard said that there is only going to be limited DRM because they don’t want to have to fight piracy, so I was wondering, and hoping, that would mean I would be able to play my wife on Starcraft 2 on both my computers, without having to buy a seperate CD…I would hate that…I already own the game, I should be able to use it on both my computers at once!…My wife and I are one person!!!…lol…legally…

I’m going through a huge hastle with store bought DVDs. My parents have a weekend home, and I usually bring guests along, and I also like bringing a few movies down there with me to entertain my guests. Often I forget them down there, or end up taking them with me on a 250 mile drive. Recently I had what I thought was a stroke of genius. I’d just back them up with my computer’s DVD burner. This way, I could leave my retail copy down there, and if someone wanted to see that movie, I’d have a backup copy here. It was almost perfect, I bought a stack of 25 DVDs, and sat down to start copying, to find many of my DVDs are protected? Protected from who? Me? The guy who owns the copy? The guy who would love to have a backup copy, or play the movie on a video Ipod? No, it’s to protect that movie from software piracy. So I’ve been looking around, and wanted to know if anyone had any tips? I’ve tried AnyDVD, dry erase markers… any ideas are welcome. I think it’s total bull that I have to buy 2 copies of some movies now, and I still can’t play it as a portable video on an Ipod! Man, the greed in the entertainment industry is insane! PS: Yes, yes, I know the entertainment industry’s side of the debate. At this point, I really don’t care. I’m just looking for info.

ONLY FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES Is there any website that help me to hack my software? i bought Manorama Entrance winner yesterday. It works only with the CD insice the ROM. it was costly too. I wanted to share this with my friends so that all can access it with equal shares. But i could not copy the CD. Virtual Drive also doesn’t work. So please help me. ONLY FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES.
Would it be possible to do this?

I had the craziest dream, but it seems kind of logical. I had a dream that I copied a PS2 game to my computer, burned the content to a Blu-Ray disc using Alcohol 120% (which had the PS3 BD-R option available, but I don’t know if it really does in real life) and I burned the content to the disc. When it finished burning, I put it into my PS3 and I played it. It had the PS3 splash screen then the PS2 splash screen. It seemed to have no problem playing (I have the 40GB version, both in the dream and real life). What if somebody did this? Could they copy content to a Blu-Ray then fool the console into thinking it’s a PS3 game? Then again, it might just be something you’d see in a crazy dream like I had or it might even be piracy. What do you think? I know the PS3 can play PS2 games, but that only applies to the 20GB, 60GB and 80GB versions because the 40GB was stripped of the Emotion Engine to cut production costs.
Is it copyright infringement to quote excerpts from books on this format?

I tried buying a student solution manual, paperback form, on Amazon. Today my solution manual arrived, but it was not a book, but a cd. It looks exactly to me that this seller baught some blank cds to download stuff on and come of those thin, cheap cd cases that you would find anywhere like Walmart. Point is, I’m highly sure that this seller is commiting a crime we call piracy. (I also believe this because 1) we can’t leave the seller feedback, meaning he doesn’t want other potential buyers to know what he is wrongfully selling, and 2) I looked up the same student solution manual on amazon again and sure enough the seller is selling the same thing again. I don’t want other buyers to get cheated out of what they ordered (book, not cd!) and secondly, he’s making money off of something he has no right to make money off of. I shoudl also add that I apparently am not the only one. This seller has 3 older feedback, one of which says “Received incorrect item (CD-ROM vs. paperback as ordered).)
