There is phone tapping software that allows you to tap someones phone. Should it be legal?

Not only can they listen on your phones but can see your texts and pictures. And even when your not on the phone, your phone is next to you (even if its off) they can listen to your conversations. Parents use this software on there kids without there permission. Here something you probalbly don’t know: phone tapping is legal only if you have written permission from the person your tapping. So your parents are breaking federal laws if there are doing it. So should this be legal?

If I want to sell my used CD’s and software are there royalty or licensing issues I should be aware of?

I’m thinking that since I’ve purchased the music/software, I’ve met any obligation to pay royalties. Thanks, Marc

What should we call this type of software licensing?

I know it’s long but I can not fit it all in here: http://techfettish.wordpress.com What should we call this type of licensing? In short: you can only install 4 times, even if all four installs are done on the SAME COMPUTER! After that you have to pay. If you do take the time to read my blog you’ll find a description about someone who was asked to pay because she did format 4 times when switching from xp to vista, then back to xp, and then had hardware problems. So what should we call this type of licensing? So far I have “stupidware” and “chumpware.” The mainstream media will need a term to use when they are finally able to explain what it is themselves so let’s get one to them before other companies start doing this BS!

Should Rodgers & Hammerstein estate sue Liverpool and its fans for copyright infringement?

Well..Liverpool play “You’re Never Walk Alone” at their stadium without getting proper permission from Rodger & Hammerstein estate the rightful owner of the songs.. The Liverpool fans sing along without knowing that singing this song in public is a copyright infringement act..

Should I settle or fight a lawsuit against me for copyright infringement?

My ISP records are being subpoenaed and I am scared stupid. I am a college student and the $150,000 cap scares me. I didn’t know it was copyrighted when I downloaded it. Is it better to settle or fight?

What software licensing issues should a customer know?

What are some of things that a customer should be aware of when purchasing a software license from a vendor? Our company is planning on purchasing a runtime license from an image generation vendor (Presagis) and we want to make sure we have all the bases covered. Here are some things I have. If anyone has anything to add, let me know. For example: 1) Time duration of the license 2) Asking if an evaluation license is offered so I can see if the product operates as expected for a period of time 3) Any maintenance that may be expected from the vendor with an optional maintenance contract 4) Make sure this is a site license rather than a license that restricts operation to a single machine

What should be illegal to post online, besides child porn and copyright infringement?

The only things that I can think of that it’s illegal to put on the internet are those two things. What else should be made illegal? And what political party are you affiliated with? =) No, no reason.

What should I do if I think an Answers avatar is a copyright infringement?

I just saw an interesting avatar (instead of that anonymous grey profile) in a box on a Yahoo Answer. I appreciate the user wanting to have that symbol, but I that avatar sure looks to me like a copy of the symbol used by a national human rights organization. I would not want the user to get into trouble.

Should software licensing be completely eliminated?

Either way, when you purchase a copy of the software, shouldn’t the company provide the source code?

Should the rest of the world follow Malaysia’s example with pirates?

Seven Somalis, including three boys under 15 years old, could face the death penalty if convicted on charges of firing on Malaysian armed forces while attempting to a hijack a merchant ship. The seven appeared before a Malaysia magistrate in Kuala Lumpur on Friday to hear the charges against them. They did not enter a plea and were transferred to a prison to await the next court action, set for March 15, the Malaysian national news agency Bernama reported. The charges stem from an attack on the container ship Bunga Laurel in the Gulf of Aden on January 20. http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/02/11/3-teenage-boys-face-death-in-malaysia-piracy-case/?hpt=T2 I hope they flm it and put it online.

The lproduct license on the Microsoft Office does not work to activate the software, what should I do?

Should I report this Amazon seller to authorities; would they even do anything?

I tried buying a student solution manual, paperback form, on Amazon. Today my solution manual arrived, but it was not a book, but a cd. It looks exactly to me that this seller baught some blank cds to download stuff on and come of those thin, cheap cd cases that you would find anywhere like Walmart. Point is, I’m highly sure that this seller is commiting a crime we call piracy. (I also believe this because 1) we can’t leave the seller feedback, meaning he doesn’t want other potential buyers to know what he is wrongfully selling, and 2) I looked up the same student solution manual on amazon again and sure enough the seller is selling the same thing again. I don’t want other buyers to get cheated out of what they ordered (book, not cd!) and secondly, he’s making money off of something he has no right to make money off of. I shoudl also add that I apparently am not the only one. This seller has 3 older feedback, one of which says “Received incorrect item (CD-ROM vs. paperback as ordered).)
