as an airline consultant, i’ve learned that ‘film piracy’ has some not-so-obivous definitions & dimensions. 1) showing unscheduled films on unassigned routes. 2) logging in incorrect digital data in an aircraft’s IFE (inflight entertainment) system, i.e. flight #s/routes/film titles shown.
is this mere copyright infringement, and not ‘film piracy’ as it does not entail theft, selling or actual distribution?
would anyone give some expert and useful opinions/articles on this specific case. thank you very much.

Is merely showing an unscheduled inflight movie on an unassigned route already considered ‘film piracy’?

Do antivirus companies really prosecute? Or does compliance merely appeal to conscience?

Licenses for antivirus programs may range from 3, 5 or more computers. Most of them, however, can use one active code to operate the trial program. So virtually, you can activate as many software copies as you want. If one exceeds the legal requirement, do these antivirus companies really run after you? Would they be able to detect?
