Are federal gun laws unconstitutional in the United States?
In the constitution, the federal congress is given a list of things they can do, but they may not do anything that is not on the list: *Levy Taxes *Borrow money on the credit of the United States. *Spend when authorized by an approriations bill *Pay the Federal debt *Constitute tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court *Declare War *Raise armies, a navy, and provide for the common defense *Introduce constitutional amendments and choose the mode of ratification *Call a Constitutional Convention on the application of two-thirds of the States *Regulate interstate and foreign commerce. *Coin Money *Standardize the value of currency *Regulate copyrights and patents *Establish federal courts lower than the Supreme Court. *Limit the appellate jurisdiction of the Federal Courts including the Supreme Court. *Standardize weights and measures. *Establish uniform times for elections. *Control the Postal System *Establish laws governing citizenship *Make its own rules and discipline its own members . *Provide for the punishment of counterfeiting, piracy, treason and other Federal Crimes. *Exercise exclusive jurisdiction over the District of Columbia *Establish Bankruptcy laws *Override presidential vetoes. *Oversee all Federal property and possesions *Fill a vacancy in the presidency in cases of death or inability * Receive and count electoral votes for the Presidency *Keep and publish a journal of its proceedings *Conduct a census every ten years. *Approve treaties, cabinet level appointments, and appointments to the Supreme Court (Senate only). *Impeach (House only) and try (Senate only) federal officers. *Initiate all bills for raising revenue (House only). Doesn’t this mean that all federal gun laws (for example, the expired assault weapon ban) are unconstitutional?

Downloading Laws in Canada?
I know that it’s legal to download music in Canada for personal usages off of p2ps for free..but what about other things like: music, games, or computer programs? I have not downloaded any of these ever….but I’m just curious to know what the legislation on piracy in Canada is.
Are there laws against software piracy in the internet? If there are, who are enforcing them?
What are the piracy laws?
ok, let me say this before anything, im not here to here “you shouldn’t pirate, it’s like stealing” ik that, im not here to hear that. what my question is, is that lets say im 13, i live in a small town, and download about 7 songs a week, and about 1 movie every other week, my town only has a pop of 3,000 and i live in the USA, what are the chances of me getting caught, and if i did get caught (yes i understand that im bound to get caught sometime) how long or how much money would i be charged as a 13 year old? is it fedral? also i have another question well im at it, i put all my music and movies on a external hard drive, i use truecrypt to password protect it, is it possible for them to crack it, because i heard something about that if you use truecrypt it’s nearly impossible (im not going to say impossible because i’ve been working with computers to long to know that anything is possible), so if they dont have any evidence other than my ip address (i use torrents), than can they still convict me?? thx alot, i hope this isn’t to long
Piracy Laws for music in USA?
ok, im 13 and i’d say im pretty intellegent, now, i don’t want to hear about virii or any crap like that because i work in a linux box, but anyway, i use torrents and i just had a few questions, #1 how do they know its you, ok i under stand that they look at your IP address, and even if i did change mine, my ISP still keeps logs and all that stuff, but do they just track you MAC address? so i could just change my wireless card and hide/destroy the current one?? i’ve been thinking long and hard about this one for some time, and i personally think thats the only thing they could track, because someone could pull up on the street and tap into my wifi (mine is WPA2 secured, but lets just say it isn’t for a sec) so then how do they even know that it was myself or one of my family members? #2 if they take you box, how do they know that you didn’t buy the CD, rip it to your computer, and then throw the CD away? then they really couldn’t say that you stole it if you just say you threw the CD away, or am i missing a step here? thats all the questions i can think of off the top of my head that i’ve been thinking about alot the past couple of days (after i figured out i was worth about xxx, xxx, xxx) lol
Will laws against software piracy cause the first real rebellion against monopolizing media organisations?
You misunderstand my meaning, i’m talking about laws against software piracy to a totalitarian degree.
The United States Music Copyright Laws?
So growing up and all I was under the impression that only one copy per purchase could be played at a time. Example; You don’t play “bought once two copies” Sexy Sadie at location A and location B at the same time. But, not sure anymore. Is it alright to download music if you can’t find it sung by that person anywhere else? Is it alright if you plan on buying it later? Is it alright if you have a (movie, game, tv-show ETC.) where that song is featured? Can you rip songs from a cd, and then give said CD to someone else? Could someone explain the FBI-Anti piracy warning in /my/ language? As in make it understandable from average-person to average-person, not lawyer to average-person. This is all hypothetical and I’m just confused.
Piracy, laws and outcomes?
Please read before answering: Well i want to know how piracy laws works in the USA (federal laws here are the questions: -Downloading something without using it is ilegal? -Having a back up downloaded form internet is ilegal? -For example if you download an mp3 and you have the actual cd is this ilegal? The important questions: -If you downloaded something fro a friend and handle it to him what i can do to avoid any troubles? -Making a small letter saying i handle him assuming that he own a copyrighted version of anything and make him sign it, is a good idea or just waste of time? -If its a good idea, can i ask for example his sign and asking hi to put the las 4 number of his social security or anything that might support his sign? any ideas is this good? what i can ask in this letter? -Is Ilegal to charge for the work done on giving a back up to frnds For each question if you can add the real consequences and procedure that law must do to get someone in troble and the consequence PLEASE ANSWER ONLY IF YOU KNOW and dont answer if you gonna say something like better avoid that, i am not asking because i wanna do it i really need the straight answers. I am actually agains piracy but i need straight neutral realistic answers.
Anti-Piracy laws (for a documentary peice)?
I’m doing a documentary on anti piracy laws. I’d like to get as many knowledgeable opinions on this as possible, if you have any facts/cases that may be of use feel free to let me know and cite a source. Need your thoughts regarding things like: – 3 strike rule – automated detection software – thoughts on itunes downloaded files locking after switching or reformatting the computer twice – any screwed up cases you know of, such as that one a few years back when a minor caught pirating obviously couldn’t be sued for a whole lot, so instead the MPAA went after his guardian who was his 80 year old grandmother – if anyone knows a source for the supreme court case details on how it’s now actually illegal to burn music from CDs onto Ipods ( i know that sounds like bs but its true) Any unique views on the subject matter / opinions / all thoughts will be appreciated —————— Ben J… If that’s true then its awesome, but is it a result of democratized media or so many people getting these products illegally? Plus, if movies and music aren’t as profitable as they once were doesn’t that give more incentive to the MPAA to increase lobbying for all this stuff, whether its a result of pirating or not?

Also, yes music purchased from itunes will lock itself after it moves to another computer or the computer is reformatted 2x, and yes it is illegal I said to look it up. Why don’t you do that instead of going with your gut on these things.
