You will not be selling it or charging admission or making any copies. If it is, how can these services get away with it? And how come more “owners” of these movies don’t band together and stop those service companies. The person who downloads it shouldn’t be held responsible – but how can you find out who originally made that movie available for downloading?

Just curious…say i download a game from a website, would the company even be able to know it was me besides the ip address? And what are the chances of them actually suing me? And how much money could they sue me for?

i have a friend…. who just got a notice saying that the company that prdouced the movie jarhead has tracked down his ip adress and the may press charges and take it to court. he was wondering what the penalty can be, he only downloaded it and nothing else. he is a minor too.

Well..Liverpool play “You’re Never Walk Alone” at their stadium without getting proper permission from Rodger & Hammerstein estate the rightful owner of the songs.. The Liverpool fans sing along without knowing that singing this song in public is a copyright infringement act..

I received some poems by email and some have authors and others are unknown. I want to know if it is okay to publish these if I plan on donating any money received to a charity. I won’t even take credit, just in memory of my son, and then his name. I may even pay to publish it out of my own pocket.

I have recently downloaded vlc player and it comes with big list of channels loaded with movies, tv shows, u name it. It comes I guess from shoutcast tv and radio. My son downloaded a movie and I received a letter that my identity (from my ip address) will be sent to the company suing if I don’t file a request to squash or something like that and send a copy to them. I couldn’t find a lawyer locally who handles that type of thing so didn’t send the form in. So I’ll be identified to the company. Now what happens? Isn’t it the website that violated the copyright by allowing the download? Why am I being sued?
