Is it copyright infringement to name a company after a song lyric or movie line?
My friend is starting a company and wants to name it after a movie line or a song lyric that he likes. I have warned him that this could land him in hot water, both the movie and the song are copyrighted material. Which one of us wins the argument?
What would be considered copyright infringement?
What I mean is this. For example I know the Coca Cola logo. What was done so that a person changing the words to Jesus Christ in the same font is protected from legal complications. How is that a person can spoof a movie without having to get sued. For instance, Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, Scary Movie, etc. I am curious because I want to do some ads and i want to know what protects me as a young advertiser.

Would this be considered as copyright infringement?
I am beginning to show more and more interest in t-shirt designing lately and even have a couple of designs i want to make into t-shirts. One of my original designs includes the band name “Panic at the Disco”. Since this design is only going to be used for non-commercial purposes and absolutely not using it for any profit whatsoever, I was wondering if I was free of any copyright/legal issues. Would it be a copyright infringement if i made the t-shirt for just for me? Thanks

Is extracting the soundtrack from a video game to play on a CD/MP3 player copyright infringement?
I’d like to have the GTA Vice City soundtrack from my video game, but I’m not sure how to get the .WAV or what ever proprietary file format the music is in onto my my computer. I am also not sure if that is stealing or not. When I buy a video game, am I buying all aspects of all information contained within it, or am I just buying the physical device (cd, cartridge, whatever) and the license to play the game? Or am I buying everything within including the music?
