I just recently i received a letter from my ISP (Charter) saying i infringed on copyright laws on something i downloaded 3 weeks ago or something. I’m guessing its not safe to download anymore right? What can they do to me if i do download another application, movie, or song?

I have a question, i know many videos on youtube that are deleted by copyrighting. can those youtubers, who are caught copyright infringing , be sued big money if they’re ip is traced or do the companies, just don’t care because i heard that they care if you “sell” copyrighted material.

I’ve been making videos for makeup contest and used minute-long portions of songs such as So Happy I Could Die by Lady Gaga. Could I get in trouble for this, even though it isn’t the full song? I would like to someday become a youtube partner, and I can’t do so if I have these marks on my record.

Let’s say I have a comic. Then my character is drinking Sprite, but I state that I didn’t create Sprite and that it’s copyrighted by the Coca-Cola Company. Am I allowed to do that? Or do I have to make it a generic brand? Plus the scene was in McDonald’s. I don’t know if that’s a problem too.

A recent video of mine has been blocked everywhere but Canada because a song I included infringes a certain Audio company’s copyright. By switching this song with a track from YouTube’s AudioSwap feature, is my video now safe from being blocked because of its audio?

I’m not sure that it is okay, I could have bought the movie on Itunes, but then no one else could watch it. I hope it is okay to put my DVD on my Ipod, I have not done it yet, and I needed to know.
