The situation arises from a public LiveJournal comment. The author of said public post now says I am in violation of her copyright and therefore open to litigation and/or removal from the site where the quote is made unless I remove the quote.
The review in question is my own and thus not a problem with copyright infringement since I own the rights and may publish it in any way I choose without or without citation, although I chose to cite the review and provide a link. The copyright infringement allegations come from the author who mentioned my review in a public LiveJournal post that I quoted in its entirety without comment or editorializing in any way. I wanted people to read the review and her response and judge the merits of each.
I originally had a link to the public post but she made the post friends only. I had copied the public post in its entirety because I had a suspicion that she would lock the post and keep those who aren’t friends from making an informed judgment. The post mentions the review but then descends wholeheartedly into attacking me personally without answering my judgment of the book, except to say that I “trashed” the book and her personally out of professional and personal malice.

I’m going through a huge hastle with store bought DVDs. My parents have a weekend home, and I usually bring guests along, and I also like bringing a few movies down there with me to entertain my guests. Often I forget them down there, or end up taking them with me on a 250 mile drive.
Recently I had what I thought was a stroke of genius. I’d just back them up with my computer’s DVD burner. This way, I could leave my retail copy down there, and if someone wanted to see that movie, I’d have a backup copy here.
It was almost perfect, I bought a stack of 25 DVDs, and sat down to start copying, to find many of my DVDs are protected? Protected from who? Me? The guy who owns the copy? The guy who would love to have a backup copy, or play the movie on a video Ipod?
No, it’s to protect that movie from software piracy. So I’ve been looking around, and wanted to know if anyone had any tips? I’ve tried AnyDVD, dry erase markers… any ideas are welcome.
I think it’s total bull that I have to buy 2 copies of some movies now, and I still can’t play it as a portable video on an Ipod!
Man, the greed in the entertainment industry is insane!
PS: Yes, yes, I know the entertainment industry’s side of the debate. At this point, I really don’t care. I’m just looking for info.

Why Don’t the Video Game Companies Allow Us to Download a Copy of ALL Their Past Game Titles for a Fee?

I’m not really a fan of buying physical copies of games, unless I can’t legally get it any other way. I prefer downloading the games for the convenience and you don’t have to worry about them getting damaged. You might say that they are already doing this, but why not with ALL of their past titles? I enjoy some of the old school games that are unavailable to me legally through downloading. Also, this would be another great opportunity for the video game companies to make more money.
Some kind of system similar to Steam (By Valve) would be ideal for this method.
This goes for all (Mainly the Popular Titles) Video Games including Computer Games.
Unless you can’t think of any other reason, Please don’t answer this question with “It Promotes Piracy.” I know that piracy is immoral and I don’t practice it.

the software was included when i bought my acer TravelMate 3210 laptop now i need to reformat my computer but i dont have the cd anymore…., but the product key number for the software is istill posted on the sticker of Proof of License Certificate of Authenticity on the bottom part of my laptop.
