I wrote a piece of literature and gave it to someone online for feedback. I gave it to her because she is also writer and doesn’t know me personally (therefore she won’t just “try to be nice”.) She hasn’t responded for weeks.
The literature is not published, however it IS copyrighted and registered with the Library of Congress. The person who has it knows that, but I’m still not sure. Am I just being paranoid? I just want to be prepared in case someone tries to steal my work.

Norway and India Act against Bio-Piracy
Indian Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh and the Norwegian Environment Minister Erik Solheim signed an agreement for establishing a Centre for Biodiversity Policy and Law (CEBPOL) in the National Biodiversity Authority in Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu, India. The two countries will work together to develop professional expertise when dealing with legal issues in relation to protection and biodiversity.
Jairam Ramesh is reported to have said, “Biodiversity is a subject of great significance to us and working with the like minded people, we will be in a stronger position t preserve and protect our biodiversity.”
Mr Eric Solheim from Norway said that the agreement was a crucial project as it ensured the “sharing of genetic resources” achieved in Nagoya. At the heart of the agreements is the work to be undertaken for research and to develop new medicines on the basis of genetic recourses that will “have fair distribution of revenues in the world” said Solheim.
The Norwegian Government has offered to provide the technical and institutional collaboration for the CEBPOL. India and Norway can learn from each others’ experiences their historical and traditional knowledge.
The main objective of CEBPOL is to develop the professional expertise in the complete policy and legal issues that relate to biodiversity. This includes access and benefit sharing, research, development and training. Thus the centre is expected to contribute to the strengthening and implementation of the Biological Diversity Act.
The Convention on Biological Diversity in Nagoya, Japan has adopted a “Nagoya Protocol” on Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS). The centre’s initiative is accurate and responsive to the conclusions of the Conference in Japan.
India has suffered from bio-piracy despite is immense diverse country and has thus played a very important role in all ABS talks.

Are There Real Solutions Against Software Piracy?
Software piracy is among the biggest challenges facing programmers today. Piracy refers to the copying and reselling of copyrighted software programs without the developer’s permission. If it is given away or sold, in either case it is illegal.
There are thousands of sites illegally distributing software programs. This distribution is costing developers billions of money every year. The good news is, there are actual things you can do to stop this unlawful duplicating and distribution from occurring with your software application. Listed below are two options:
#1) File a lawsuit
As long as you own the copyright for your item, this could be an option. Having said that, this could get tiring very quickly, as well as expensive, as, there are lots of websites that that are involved in this illegal practice. You might invest weeks just trying to find them all, instead of spending your precious time marketing your product. Quite simply, this may cause you more harm than good.
#2) Software Copy Protection
There is actually copy protection that is possible to install into the software, which stops it from being distributed. This system is a lot less expensive and time consuming in comparison to the first option.
Search for protection methods that may be deployed without needing to change the source code of the software program. In some cases they can be added in less than 5 minutes. Seek out protection that supports each hardware interface, since you may well be using several hardware solutions. Also find one with complete backwards compatibility, as this means you will never have to alter the dongles in the future.
Furthermore, several of the programs can be installed onto specific modules, and not the entire software. If you do not want protection on the entire thing, this could be something to search for.
The bottom line is, these are 2 of the options you have to eliminate software piracy. Copy protection will cost you much less time and money, and is probably the best longterm option. Hopefully this has given you a solid idea of how to stop software piracy.

Why could THIS ship carry arms against pirates?
We have heard all about the recent pirating of ships. We have been told the seamen could not carry their own weapons, for various reasons. So why was this ship allowed to:
CNN) — The captain of an Italian cruise ship foiled an attack by pirates off the coast of Somalia on Saturday by ordering his security crew to fire back, Italy’s ANSA news agency reported.
Six armed pirates in a speedboat attacked the ship, which had about 1,500 people onboard, ANSA said. They fled after the security crew fired back.
The cruise ship Melody, which is owned by an Italian company, was on its way back to Italy after a cruise, ANSA said.
No one was injured in the attack about 180 miles north of the Seychelles.
Piracy is rampant off the coast of Somalia despite the presence of foreign navies. The area hardest hit off the coasts of Somalia and Kenya, including the Gulf of Aden, is more than 1.1 million square miles — four times the size of the state of Texas
